Background of the Study
Simulation software has become an invaluable tool in the teaching of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects, providing students with interactive and immersive learning experiences. These software applications allow students to visualize complex scientific phenomena, conduct virtual experiments, and solve engineering problems in a controlled environment. As traditional teaching methods often fall short in conveying abstract STEM concepts, simulation software offers a more engaging and effective approach.
In Ilorin West Local Government Area, Kwara State, secondary schools are increasingly adopting digital tools to enhance STEM education. However, the integration of simulation software into the classroom is still in its nascent stages, and its effectiveness in enhancing student learning remains unclear. This study seeks to evaluate the impact of simulation software on the teaching and learning of STEM subjects in secondary schools in the region.
Statement of the Problem
While simulation software has the potential to improve STEM education, its actual use and impact in secondary schools in Ilorin West Local Government Area remain inadequately explored. Challenges such as insufficient teacher training, lack of resources, and limited exposure to technology hinder the widespread adoption of simulation tools. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of simulation software in improving students' understanding of STEM subjects in secondary schools in Ilorin West.
